So happy to see this book come up in BookishFirst! I loved Annalee Newitz's first novel, Autonomous, with its sci-fi frame around themes of personal rights and social responsibility. This excerpt indicates that Newitz is focusing on women's bodily and/or reproductive autonomy, which, hello, continual relevance. I've always liked the 90s grunge/punk aesthetics so I'm enjoying that setting for the first two chapters. Plus I love a good time travel story so I'm excited to see what happens there!
