Thank you Bookish first for sending me this advanced reader's copy. This was a great read that I finished in just a few days. It had a slow start but I found it difficult to put down in the last quarter of the book. The book follows a young woman, Claire, recently out of relationship due to commitment issues as she realizes she is being followed. Her friend also recently died under mysterious circumstances. She is drawn into a dangerous web that threatens her life. Lincoln serves a great side character and comic relief but that doesn't take away from the fact that Claire is a very smart and self-sufficient character.
I liked that in the ending she didn't magically take Peter back. She acknowledged that she would never be the type of person that would be ready for a relationship. Instead she embraces her new path forward as a private detective.
