Raised by her grandmother Leona, Claire vowed that she would never return to their home. After ending a relationship, she leaves New York and returns to see Leona settled in a facility to handle her advancing dementia. Leona had been abusive and taught Claire to be aggressive and not back down. Now she has someone following her and her house has been broken into. The author provides suspense from the opening scenes and gives you a main character who seems capable of handling whatever is to come.
