At first, I wondered if this book would be my style, as I normally don't read adventurous novels. But the wit of Myles Fowl and the silliness of Beckett Fowl along with their fairy and troll friends, truly made a nice and exciting read. It was really crazy to see how they cleverly escaped from multiple captors, even when all hope seemed lost. But I truly enjoyed the way the brothers' personalities bounced off each other, and the banter was enjoyable to see unfold. I had kind of thought it was a child's book, but I actually enjoyed it incredibly. I liked the plot and thought it was sound, and I liked how the viewpoint did shift from character to character, even to the enemies. I was actually also surprised by the fact that I want to read the next installment, whenever that comes out.
