I have been a fan of Eoin Colfer for years, and I was very excited when I found out that he was returning to this world. "Fowl Twins" takes us back to the world of Artemis Fowl, and we now follow the adventures of his younger brothers.
Colfer's signature humor really shines through. The twins have very different personalities, and Colfer uses this to great comedic and dramatic effect. The plot is really driven by this difference in the way that the two boys conduct themselves. Like true siblings, they egg each other on and create lots os mayhem and chaos both together and apart.
This is a lovely book for a middle reader, and also for an adult that wants to feel nostalgic. I imagine it would be fun to read this with your child or younger relative, and discuss the book afterward. Reading this book has been a joy. I am looking forward to the next one (coming out soon, I think!).
