I’ll start off by saying that this is one of those books that will entice new readers to the Artemis Fowl series and world, but one that will also bring back old readers to this world for the chance to go back to their younger years when they read the Artemis Fowl series the first time.
Spinoffs are tricky. Sometimes they are great in theory, but when carried out kind of ruin the continuation or just end up being totally unnecessary. Other times they end up just making the continuation the grandest thing there is to offer and not only does it bring back old readers, it introduces more, and that’s the goal of any great book or series. The Fowl Twins is in the latter category.
If you’re looking for a book to thrust you back into your childhood, or back to the time you first read Artemis Fowl, then this is the book for you. If you’re looking for a book that will grab a hold of you and open a new world, go read Artemis Fowl, then come back and read this when you’re done (and also know that I hate you for being able to read this without a wait. Ha!).
