I really enjoyed the original Artemis Fowl books and was happy to find this book is on par with those. The story moves quickly, is full of adventure, clever humor, and even an endearing relationship between the twins, despite their opposite personalities. Speaking of personalities, I love that even the villains (or baddies as the book labels them) have fully developed personalities so we can feel their motivation and laugh at their foibles. I also love when magic comes into our real world and makes it more interesting. A tiny troll and a pixel (pixie/elf) definitely enlivened the situation. Eoin Colfer has a seemingly bottomless well of imagination to draw from. I look forward to the rest of the series.
