Once again Eoin Colfer brings our favorite spy family The Fowls! This time we follow the younger fowl twins Myles and Beckett.
These two are a force of nature in their rights and they make sure everyone knows that!
However, while they are twins these boys are completely different from one another: Myles wears suits, is super organized, a tad smug and loves lecturing others.
Beckett, on the other hand, is the complete opposite, Messy, disorganized, hates wearing clothes in general, and loves to tease Myles… Oh and wants to speak as the animals do!

Now I was excited to receive this arc for an honest review but sadly I could get the same enjoyment from it like I can with the original story, of course, the plot of the story was really good and the characters interacted quite well with one another, It’s just I was missing the magic that Artemis and the others would bring to the stories.
That being said I do see this being a well-loved series especially as Myles and Beckett get older and depart more from their older brother’s shadow.
The pacing was a bit on the slow side and I think the book was a bit too long especially being that is is the first book in a middle-grade series.
I also want to put in trigger warnings for things I was surprised to see in a middle-grade book like Depression, torture, violence, and bullying. So, parents, I would advise you to monitor your kids when they read this book!

All in all, I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars for my rating.
