Set in 1957, Madrid, Spain, we follow....multiple characters actually. I'm personally not a huge fan of multiple povs from the very beginning of a book. The chapters are succinct, which bothers me even more. It's hard to distinguish the characters.
However, the story is fascination. The characters, with their tragic lives, have ardent desires. This fuels them and the story.
Puri is a nun and...that's literally all i could gather.
Ana and Daniel kick it off well. Only 50 pages in and I'm totally shipping them.
Ana has a dark past but is resilient. Strong, and eager for a brighter future.
Daniel, a privileged kid from Dallas, visits Spain with his family. His chapters are my favourite because that's when we truly get a good look at the unjust reality of Madrid.
I read the preview part and am so far loving it. Can't wait to read the actual book!
