In the past I havn't been the biggest fan of Ruta Sepetys books but I decided I would give this one a chance. Even after reading the first forty or so pages I know my feelings towards Sepetys books havn't changed. I don't know what it is about them, her writing style, the characters, the plot? I usually love historical fiction but I just can't get into this book. I find that as i'm reading, I just lose interest, I have no attachment to the characters and absolutely no investment in the plot or the storyline. I know plenty of people who love her books but maybe Ruta Sepetys just isn't the author for me. Every book i've tried to read by Sepetys has left me disappointed so I wasn't very hopeful for this one to be any different.
