I've read salt to the sea and between shades of grey and I l o v e d those books! I'm not the biggest fan of historical fiction, but I love Ruta Sepetys her books. So naturally, I decided to pick this one up. I am Dutch and have visited Spain a few times but I barely know anything about the Spanish history of the country and the civil war ofcourse, which is the time period in which the book was set in.

I loved Daniel and Ana and how they developed and how their relationship developed. Daniel is very rich and Ana is the maid in the hotel where Daniel stays.

The book is told from multiple POV's which sadly, I don't prefer over one storyteller because that's easier to follow for me.

And as always, I'm very happy with young adult books that have main characters that are 18 or older. It makes the book much more relatable for me and the characters are a bit more mature, which I prefer.
