I absolutely love books that give voice to little know historic perspectives that no one expected or bothered to explore. I was immediately captivated by the gorgeous cover and enticing title and was swallowed whole by the book. I am a fan of books that teach me a little something as I hungrily read and this book definitely did that. I personally am not a big fan of short chapters but the flow, the prose, everything the writer included made me not mind the chapter length and just finish the book as a whole. It was beautifully written, the characters leaping off the page, effectively transporting me back into history. I can tell that I will definitely have to be on the lookout for more masterpieces by this author.
