I have been waiting for the release and the cover of this book since Ruta first mentioned the book. And once again, her book drew me in completely. Just like with Between Shades of Gray and Salt to the Sea, I quickly became attached to the characters. I also yearn to learn more about the oppression under Franco’s rule. I just know that the rest of the book beyond those chapter shared here will be both phenomenal and heartbreaking. Well done Ruta Sepetys, historical fiction queen
