Strong female characters and an unputdownable plot!
Alice is widowed and heartbroken after her first husband dies unexpectedly, leaving her alone with their young daughter. Ten years later, she’s moved on as much as she can with a new doting husband, another child and a successful business.
Beth is Alice’s best friend. Alice’s youngest daughter and Beth’s daughter are in school together and the moms often commiserate about their lives - Beth being jilted by her daughter’s father before she was even born and money issues and Alice worrying that her husband is having an affair. But as their friendship deepens and the women confide in each other more, they start to learn that their lives may have collided many years before and are more intertwined than they may have thought.
I received this book unexpectedly in the mail from the publisher. I had already heard about it and was so excited to dive in. It has all the elements of an incredible novel - mystery, strong female characters, gorgeous cover, great premise, twists and turns, and it’s totally unputdownable! Though not entirely unpredictable I was still surprised and could not stop turning the pages!
