Sandie Jones, author of The Other Woman, does it again with her newest book, The First Mistake! When I opened my mail to find this book sitting there, I couldn’t be more excited. I love domestic thrillers and couldn’t wait to tear into this one. And I must say, The First Mistake did not disappoint!

Alice and her husband, Nathan, own a successful interior design company that Alice took complete ownership of when her previous husband went missing on a skiing trip. Together, Alice and Nathan are looking to expand and take on larger and more profitable projects. Everything seems to be headed in the right direction until Alice begins to have some misgivings about her husband’s whereabouts and business trips he constantly takes. She confides in her best friend, Beth, who has a daughter the same age as Alice’s youngest child, and seems to be the only school mother Alice has a connection with. Soon, Alice starts to question all of her closest relationships and begins to wonder just who she can actually trust.

I, personally, couldn’t get enough of this book! I love, love, love domestic thrillers and thought that The First Mistake fit in perfectly to that category. The story was easy to follow along with and I loved the way the characters were portrayed. You’ll find yourself sitting in Alice’s shoes, questioning just who you can trust and trying to figure out what direction the story will go. While some parts of the story were a little predictable, I do have to say the major plot of the story threw me for a loop. And any book that can keep me guessing gets my vote!

If you love thrillers, and especially if you were a fan of Sandie Jones’ last novel The Other Woman, I suggest picking this book up when it hits shelves June 11!
