I got my hands on an ARC of this book and devoured it. I finished it in one day. I have read the author's previous book, The Other Woman, so was hopeful for this new one. I enjoyed this one even more. I love psychological thrillers but I've read enough of them now that I feel like I am not surprised as much as I'd like to be (I love those books with a crazy good twist).

Writing reviews of thrillers can be tricky as you don't want to give anything away. So, I'll keep my review somewhat vague.

I loved the way this book pulled me in right away. It gave me enough clues to be suspicious and to put things together. That being said, I feel like I should have been able to completely figure out what was happening and how the pieces fit together, but I didn't.

Throughout the story we have doubts about Alice's abilities based on her past breakdown. The story starts out with her as being successful but also second-guessing herself. As the story unravels, it is evident that something is awry with her friend Beth (who "accidentally" never meets Alice's husband). I don't know about you, but if my bff hasn't met my husband, that is weird. The author throws enough doubts in to the mix to make you skeptical of Alice, Beth, Alice's current husband Nathan and even Alice's previous husband Tom. Without giving anything away - the ending definitely shocked me (although it shouldn't have since the author did give us an idea that this person was out there).

This is the perfect summer beach or poolside read.
