Sandie Jones is one of my new favorite authors, having read The Half Sister first through BookishFirst. After picking up The First Mistake next, I was not disappointed by her earlier work.
After the loss of her first husband, Alice has bounced back with a successful career, the perfect house, two wonderful children, and Nathan, her attentive new husband. And through all the ups and downs, she's had her best friend, Beth, by her side.
And when Nathan starts acting out of character, Beth is the first person Alice turns to. But Alice soon starts regretting her decision to trust her.

This was a highly addictive thriller and a quick read, from the simple and lovely cover to the last page. I began to wonder how many awful man-related things could happen to one woman! Poor Alice! I really enjoy Jones's writing style and am off to find The Other Woman. Looking forward to many more books from her!
