I loved Sandie Jones first book, “The Other Woman” a lot so I was definitely looking forward to “The First Mistake”. Sadly for me, I figured everything out super early on. It just felt like all the twists have been done before a million times. I liked the book, don’t get me wrong, but Alice just seemed naive and dumb to me. And Beth never meeting Alice’s husband for two years seemed a stretch for sure. The whole thing felt very Lifetime Movie of the Week. Again, I liked it...I just didn’t love it or like it as much as The Other Woman. (The twist in that book DID surprise me.)
In The First Mistake it just felt like Alice could have done so many things differently and been a little smarter.
I will read Sandie’s next book for sure though!
