This book was very fun and hilarious. Like I really cannot stress enough how hard I laughed at certain lines and situations Nick found himself in. I binge read it because it had been on my tbr for a while and I just got an ARC for the sequel (Flash Fire). I really enjoyed the characters and related to Nick, in his ADHD and hyperfixations. It is everything you want out of a queer superhero book!

I would like to add that I've seen in others reviews that a number of people mentioned how this book glorifies the police and turns a blind eye to a case of police brutality (that Nick's father a police officer committed - hit a witness - in the past). I would like to suggest that you do give this series a try. The sequel Flash Fire addresses the issue of police brutality in greater detail (so far, I'm about 7 or so chapters in). I feel it is important to note we are seeing the story from our narrator's perspective, he's white and the son of a police officer. He's going to have different life experiences and understandings of the world, but that doesn't mean he can't become more informed as his story continues and change those world views.
