As a teacher of teenagers, I often read YA books in an attempt to bond with students. I'd already read The House in the Cerulean Sea and absolutely loved it. This is an equally great story, but a totally different style.

Like the main character, this story is frenetic and ADHD, but beautiful and tender-hearted at its core. As a burnt out fanfic author, I loved/cringed incredibly hard at the introduction of this book and Nick's fanfiction.

This book does a great job of accurately showing the lives of high schoolers (in my opinion as an educational observer). As normal as lives can be in a city with super heroes going toe to toe on what seems like a daily schedule.

I've finished the second of this trilogy. Patiently waiting for the third in the series to be available from my library. Highly recommend the audiobook version. The narrator does a great job.
