One of the biggest reasons I decided to read this was the concept of superheroes/superpowers, its a topic I'm looking more in fiction and The Extraordinaries offers a unique start! The fusion of superheroes and fanfiction sounds really interesting!
But, I'll be honest the "modern day people with superpowers" concept (in my opinion) is executed phenomenally in The Bright Sessions podcast (I highly recommend it). So, sadly I'm a bit biased when it comes to this idea. Maybe its because this was only the first couple chapters, but it felt like the MC Nick was trying to be a little too "relatable" (not sure if that's the right word?) His character just hasn't really clicked yet with me! But, I love how quickly I immersed myself into the story and I'm interested in learning more about the Extraordinaries.
However, I will say that the story itself and how its setting up looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Once I reached that last chapter I wanted to know where the story was headed. Overall it was a solid introduction.
