Underwhelmed

This book pulled me in with its absolutely gorgeous cover and interesting premise, but I was left feeling sadly underwhelmed! The End of the Ocean is told through two character’s storylines (one in 2017 and one in 2041), that interchange each chapter and connect in a couple ways. I have to say that I hated Signe’s parts though… I was just so bored and ended up glancing through her pages! I really liked hearing David and Lou’s story until David did a thing I can’t say due to spoilers and then I was annoyed. Like c’mon, really!? But I digress. The story is incredibly relevant to today’s climate change and the overuse of freshwater, and the author has a writing style that flows nicely. Overall though, I just did not connect to the characters and I just wanted something more to happen. Sadly, this one just did not connect with me.
