I'll be honest, I initially got this book because of how pretty the cover was. The writing was beautiful and descriptive, but a lot of the time I felt like nothing was going on. However, I did enjoy this fiction which really focused on the environment, it's something I've never read before. What made the book worthwhile is how the author switched from the perspective of David and Lou. The characters themselves are charming and make the most out of their terrible dystopian situation, but the plot seriously dragged too much for me to completely enjoy it. This novel was very different from all of the other dystopian novels i've read. It's somewhat more peaceful, and has less of those government factors which I'm not a big fan of.
I loved the History of Bees so I was expecting more out of this book. I think this novel just need a little bit more action to keep readers interested.
