The End Of The Ocean by Maja Lunde follows two non-linear timelines. In 2019, 70-year-old Signe sails alone on a voyage to prove a point to the love of her life. In 2041, David and his young daughter Lou are fleeing southern Europe that's been torn apart by draught, fires and war and hoping to be reunited with the rest of their family, and eventually come across Signe's abandoned sailboat.

This was an interesting dystopian story that looks at a potential devastating future as a result of global warming, however I felt I had trouble connecting to the story. I think this was more a case of "it's not you, it's me", but I just didn't get the emotional depth that I was hoping for in a story like this. That said, some of the imagery presented in the writing was beautiful, and I think a lot of readers will love this book.
