#NarrationOverload
I was overloaded with narration. The dialogue didn't begin until about 9 pages in. That's just too much narration and description for me.
I like a first-person POV in a story, but I didn't connect with this one, partly because I'm not a big fan of present-tense stories, and partly because the narrator is kind of bleak and depressing.
I love the title, the premise of the story is compelling, the cover art is pretty, but the first chapter's delivery didn't draw me in.
