The End of the Ocean is a post-apocalyptic novel told in alternating timelines from the point of view an elderly woman, Signe, who recounts stories of her childhood as she sets something in motion at the cusp of the beginning of the end, and a young father, David, who, accompanied by his young daughter Lou, desperate to reunite at a refugee camp with his wife and infant son after being separated while fleeing their home. The concept itself is very engaging, but the meandering pace and lack of urgency make it difficult to connect to either protagonist. It is also unclear as yet how the two timelines will converge. Still, I would read this to the end.
