The cover is well done and fits very well with the story being told while the summary is done in a way that I could see drawing readers in. I was excited to read it. The premise is, I think, both relevant and engaging and is enhanced by the connection and interaction of the characters. Yet despite a sturdy platform on which this story is built, I think the structure is somewhat lacking. The writing style is fine and I really love the colorful way the author describes the environment but in many ways the tempo of the story drags. It feels as though the reader is going to have to slog out the beginning to get into the real depth of the story. Additionally, I don’t think the timelines are connected as well as they could be. There is nothing ‘bad’ about this book and overall, I think it would be a good read. I just don’t see anyone raving about this book or discussing it in anything but book clubs or a casual conversation.
