In 2017, Signe is returning to her hometown in Norway after decades of activism and living on a boat. She's back to see her home, and the glacier she grew up with, as the ice is harvested for sale around the world. In 2041, David and his daughter Lou are entering a refugee camp after fleeing their home on the Mediterranean coast of France. Europe has been the clutches of a drought for five years now, the heat severe enough that many of the elderly do not survive the summers. Based on the preview, this will be an elegant contribution to novels about climate change and life on Earth after we finally realize that there is no going back and undoing the damage that we have done to the environment.
