The Electric Kingdom is a timely book, as we are still in the grips of a pandemic...or as some may say, an apocalypse.
I enjoyed the Electric Kingdom 3/4 of the way. I enjoyed the main character and her dog, and wanting to know more about some of the other character's back stories. The main character is engaging, funny, and you kind of feel for her, being 18 and never having any real experiences that a typically 18 yr old would be having. Majority of the way through, I felt like I rushed through it, trying to hurry up and finish it because I was enjoying it so much.
Personally, while I enjoyed the writing, the story line at the end was not for me. I will not be that person that gives it away, but I just kind of feel...a little unfinished. Thinking more about the ending, it almost gives me a headache. For me, the make it or break it was the ending...and it broke it for me.
