I really liked this one! I actually listened to the audiobook and highly recommend it. I've enjoyed other books by David Arnold, and this one didn't disappoint. I liked the strong characters in addition to the strong plot, because it seems like most books only have one or the other. I absolutely adored Kit! He was such a memorable character. I don't want to give too much away, but what Nico ends up doing to protect him later was a very powerful scene. Plus, I liked the general atmosphere of reading about an apocalyptic society. I think the Arnold's writing said a lot about the human condition. Even though everyone was in danger from the flies, instead of coming together they actively worked against each other for personal gain. I highly recommend this book if you want a science fiction book that is also very touching. I'll be thinking about this one for a while.
