Or rather...you had me at "it's a f*cking bird". Any story that starts out with someone talking to a bird and throwing the middle finger to gender norms is a story I want to read. I was hooked from the first page. The cover is incredibly intriguing, and the blurb even more so, especially in the current climate of the world. This book seems incredibly timely. These characters all felt incredibly realistic, and for me a big portion of that had to do with word choice and tone. It drew me in and made me want to read more. As someone who likes books for characters first and plot second, I would love to see where this book goes and how these characters develop!
