I right away knew I would like this book just from the plot. Anything with a future world where life is different then we currently know it draws my attention especially ones where only a few humans are left. Even though this book has a similar concept to other like it from reading it I know it is going to be a totally different experience then the others. They ways this author writes makes me get lost in the words. The story is almost poetic like at some points. The writing style is very unique, and I like it a lot. The author also has so far done a wonderful job at setting up the world. Not only with what the world is currently like but also how the people are left are reacting to it.
I also like that it switches from different points of view. I always enjoy this in a book because it helps keep the story flowing and keeps me entertained because I don’t know what to expect next. Also, how this author switched from different people is also unique. At the beginning in a scene before the flies when life was filled with people the author smoothly flowed from different peoples perspective in the same chapter and it as easy to understand the shift especially because all the people were somehow connected to the situation. Overall a really good start.
As for the cover, I usually don’t like this type of design, but I actually don’t mind this one. It definitely gives me 5th Wave vibes and I really like it. I like that is almost feels 3D and the details are on point. Can’t wait to see ho the author continues to develop this book.
