The concept and ethics of clones has always been fascinating to me and I was excited to receive this gifted copy of The Echo Wife from Tor Books! I saw this one compared to Westworld and Stepford Wives and I completely agree! I liked reading about the clone process and how they conditioned/programmed the clones to be more like the individual. However, I honestly felt bored a lot throughout this book. The pace was slow and I found my eyes skipping over paragraphs at times since it felt like there was so much repetition. This was described as action-packed but I don’t think it was at all; it was more of a character study than anything. There was a good twist towards the end, however the ending was not as exciting as I wanted/expected. The Echo Wife has a lot of great reviews so I think if you go in expecting the slower-paced, introspective storyline then you may enjoy it!
