The writing was wonderful and I appreciated the creepy edge that the book had. While I really enjoyed the writing (Gailey is a master writer) the plot didn't grab me like Gailey's other works have in the past. This plot issue might have been a "it's me not you" problem as I'm not normally a huge fan of thrillers. I would still recommend this book if you've read Gaileys work in the last and enjoyed it or if you enjoy a good thriller!
I did enjoy the first half much more than the second and I was disappointed in the ending, I was looking forward to the book going in a new direction or something I didn't see coming but ended up rather predictable.
I'm still a huge Sarah Hailey fan (American Hippo is one of my favorite books) and I'll definitely be picking up whatever they publish next!
