I've been hooked just within the first three chapters. I love Evelyn's character already - she's a brilliant, witty, and capable woman who is succeeding in a male-dominated field. Even so, she's struggling with gender-related expectations set by the people around her. Within the first few chapters, I can see her response to someone cutting her off in the middle of a sentence, where she tenses up and expects them to mansplain, a situation where she is spoken down to at her own awards ceremony, and the immense pressure to behave a specific way in regards to her own personal life. As a woman who had a husband who cheated on her and is already engaged, she is expected to behave graciously towards him, since her behavior would only reflect poorly on her, instead of on the man. I'm curious to see more of the story, and to find out why the "other woman" is reaching out to her. I'm also intrigued by the idea of human cloning, and would be really interested in reading more of this story.
