Diane Chamberlain does it again. Every book I have read of hers is so unique that I quickly become lost in the unexpected tales. The Dream Daughter, was no different. My heart followed Carly throughout this entire book. I honestly had no clue what was going to happen next. It was a wild ride spanning over years. Each heartbreak connecting me closer to the characters. Diane is a unique author for sure, but one that has never let me down.

It’s 1970 and soon after losing her husband to the war, Carly discovers she is pregnant. She quickly learns that the baby has a heart defect, one that cannot be fixed and that soon she will loose her baby too. Her brother in law Hunter convinces her that he is from the future and that in 2001 the doctors can fix her baby’s heart. Desperate to save her baby she is willing to try anything and time travels to 2001 to save her baby. Will the surgery work and can she survive living in a different tome period? When she runs into problems she wonders how she will return to her family with her daughter. But she soon realizes just how deep her love is and that no length of time can change the love you have for your child.
