Emotional sci-fi family medical drama.
It's interesting to see a portrait of life not so long ago but now quaint and distant from our lives. I guess the contrasts in the last few decades and the time-travel aspect would make this a really good movie story.
Maybe it could star someone like Rachel McAdams or Reese Witherspoon. Anyway, it's definite chick-flick material.
I guess time-travel stories like this do have a similar feel--I'm a big fan of "Time and Again" by Jack Finney. But while that book gave us a look at the Gilded Age in New York, the present story is squarely centered on domestic drama.
I think it would be nice if I could be like the characters and not be familiar with email, etc. Rotary phones, a maximum of four channels--how delightful those simpler, more innocent times were!
