Carly has been through a rough time, having learned that her husband has died in Vietnam and finding out that she is pregnant. What's worse is that her baby has a serious heart condition. It's 1970, so there's little she can do to save her life.
That's where Carly's brother-in-law comes in. He has a solution, but it seems a little out of this world. He wants to send Carly into the future to 2001 where she can get the lifesaving surgery that she needs. Carly thinks that he may be crazy, but she is desperate to save her daughter.
