I've never been interested in novels about time-travel or the supernatural. However, this book is marvelous. It is very touching and well-written. I felt as though I was Carly, the mother who was desperate enough to do anything to help save her new born daughter, Joanna, who was born with a heart defect that could not be repaired at the time of her birth. Carly's brother-in-law was a physicist and unknown to anyone was a time-traveler. He knew that this defect could be repaired 30 years in the future. He approached Carly to take a leap of faith to save Joanna. Carly was desperate enough to believe him. There were complications with Joanne's recovery. Carly had run out of options for the time and place to return to 1970. She went back without Joanna and planned to return to 2001 to her back with her the next trip. Time-travel science is not foolproof and there are additional problems. This novel touches every emotion with sensitivity. I will long remember this story and certainly be reading more books by this author.
