I did not have high expectations for this book. I thought it would be a good filler novel. Something to read really quick while I watched my children at the park. It turns out that I was wrong. This book brought me to tears several times. The people at her dinner party were touching. I loved the moments that she spent with her father. They reminded me of some things that I wish I could have worked out with my own father...who sadly died before that could happen. The story with the boyfriend was heartbreaking...the fact that he was running back to her to propose when he was hit by a car. It just killed me. I had to stop and cry for a few minutes when I read that...and their good-bye at the end? Perfection.
