All in all, a cute premise and a touching love story. Sabrina shows up for her 30th birthday dinner and finds the five people (alive or dead) she chose during a game with her roommate, all seated at the table waiting for her. The cast~ Audrey Hepburn, Conrad (her college professor), Jessica (best friend), Robert (her father that left when she was a child), and Tobias (her ex-boyfriend of 10 years). The story switches between the conversation at dinner and moments in her and Tobias’s life together. She realizes there must be a reason they are gathered together and must find a way to forgive or move on with each issue.
I thought it would be a fluffy fun read, and although it was a page turner, it was surprisingly poignant. Tears, y’all. I wasn’t expecting tears. Give it a read- it really is good.
