I was so excited about this premise- a woman goes to her 30th birthday dinner and finds that she will be dining with the people she listed in her answer to the standard question about who you would choose to have dinner life, living or dead. Some her choices are obvious like her best friend. Some of her choices were more random- one of her college professors from a class she did not do particularly well in and Audrey Hepburn (who honestly might be an obvious choice for some of us). Some of her choices are people she has unfinished business with- estranged father and her ex-fiance. Chapters about the dinner are alternated with chapters from Sabrina's past, I loved the chapter about the dinner. They were interesting and peppered with with surprises and deep moments with her best friend and father. The other chapters I found less interesting. There was nothing especially compelling in the Sabrina and Tobias' relationship and there have been a slew of recent books that their story really reminded me of. Still, I loved the premise and it was enough to keep me reading.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
