This book felt like it had no point. Sure, it tried to be a deep exploration of relationships, but it honestly felt as empty as a commercial. That's not entirely accurate, however, given that I've seen commercials with more depth. This felt like a puddle with a warning "caution: deep water." Basically, this is what happens when a writer follows the fourth grade prompt of "if you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why" - reading this is tiresome and it reads kind of like a fourth grader wrote it. It's all surface, no substance. I feel like whoever picked this one as a BOTM choice was a very poor judge of a book's character, and reading it made me question whether to continue my subscription. Luckily, I was able to swap it for something half decent, but the book's still floating around in the swap group because there are people who don't know better, and no one wants to keep it after reading it.
