The first word that comes to mind is ‘Lovely’. This novel evoked so many feelings; love, remorse, despair, and renewed hope.

Sabrina attends her birthday dinner and finds the five people that she would like to have dinner with living or dead. This is a question that one is often asked in real life and so many of us have envisioned who we would like at our own dinner party. The novel alternates between this magical dinner party and a look back at Sabrina’s love affair with her ex-boyfriend, Tobias. I began to feel so much for each member sitting at the dinner table. It was so interesting to see the interactions between characters who did not know each other.
This is hands down the best contemporary novel I have read in years.
