The Dinner List makes you think first—-you remember that hypothetical dinner party? You could invite 5 guests living or dead, who would they be?
Now, what if they were really going to be there? Would it change your list? I bet it would. Suddenly you’re thinking of relatives you’ve lost rather than celebrities you’d like to meet. And really, wouldn’t you rather see your grandmother again instead of any celebrity? I sure would.

So, first this book makes you think and then it makes you feel.
Because the dinner party actually happens, ten years after Sabrina made her list. And the people at the table have definitely been huge parts of her life.

Her guests:
Her dad—he left when she was a small child and he died before they reconnected
Her ex boyfriend—possibly the love of her life, they spent many years together and have quite a history but haven’t seen each other in over a year
Her best friend—they’ve grown apart since she got married, moved and had a baby
Audrey Hepburn—of course...she’s an icon but also important to Sabrina personally
Her college professor—he is like a father figure to her

This was so well written. I wasn’t even halfway in when I realized I had two of this author’s other books on my tbr list and ordered them both.

There is the mother of all twists in this story, I probably gasped out loud when it happened.
And from that point I only put the book down for dinner and resumed reading the next morning. It kicked the story into overdrive.

I’m not going to comment on the ending because I know some people know my preferences well enough that they’ll be able to figure out what did or didn’t happen if I say I liked or disliked the ending.

I won this book through Bookish First and I was thrilled cause I couldn’t wait to read it. It did not disappoint.
