I was initially drawn to this book by the creativity of the plot as well as really enjoying Rebecca Serle's other work. Basically, for the protagonist's birthday, 6 people have dinner with her. The book revolves around her having dinner with all of these people. I thought the power of this book really came from having the different characters interact with each other. It was really great to see all of the personalities come together in the story. I felt as though all of the characters received the proper attention and it made the story far more interesting. I also loved seeing how these characters were involved in the protagonist's life.
The one thing I did not like is that the book did feel like it dragged on at times. Although I would consider this book to be more fast paced, there were a couple of scenes I felt could be shorter or omitted.
