The age old question, “If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive), who would you choose?” is answered in the most delightful way.

The book opens at the main character’s dinner party, when she walks in to find that her answers to the dinner party question are all sitting at the same table. This was such an unexpected read, and every time I thought I knew where the story was going, I was proved wrong within a matter of pages. Between flashbacks and going back to the dinner party scene, a story of heartbreak and disappointment begins to take shape.

This story was strange but beautiful. I loved the lyrical descriptions of New York, realistic friendships, and the idea that some people are meant to be but only for a short time.
