I am so greatful to have won this as an ARC compliments of Saga Press. I first became interested in this book as it seemed to take the path less traveled while exploring the concept of a less fairy tale version of under water dwellers. I found myself even more enticed when finding out that this novella is, in fact, based on a song. I knew nothing about the authors, the song, or the full meaning of the work itself, however I am now delving into the research I should have begun with. I found the book difficult to follow at times, and realized later than I should have, that I needed to do more background research. I do find this work compelling, though not my typical genre and a bit out of my grasp. I think multiple readings of the work are a must for those unfamiliar, and do listen to the song as well!
