This afrofuturism novella has me intrigued... curious... excited to read the story within! The sci-fi/fantasy premise—water-dwelling descendants of African slave women—is truly unique. The main character is a historian and a historian’s role is to carry the memories so others won’t have to. Then, when the time comes, she will share them freely until they get their fill of knowing. And the fact that the story is based on a rap song written for a radio show is utterly fascinating. The cover is dark, mysterious and beautiful. I’m just way too curious to pass up the chance to read this book!
