Who do I have to nag so that this can be made into a tv show? I feel like I've said that about several books that I have read lately but my question still stands. As a show, this would rock and I would love it. As a book, I thought it was very good and I'm absolutely here for books about Black success.

It's told in four POV's and each chapter pertains to one girl or the other etc etc. That, for me, isn't an issue as I've read plenty of books like that. But I can see how for some 4 point of views may be too much. It is a historical romance but it really focuses more on the romance more so than the historical. The vibes are there but it's not heavy with it. However, if you're new to historical fiction and want to ease into it, this isn't a bad place to start.

The best thing for me was seeing how each character navigated their particular struggle (even if, in my opinion, the romance part kind of got in the way). Struggles like familial and societal demands or gender role identities.
